Bishop Kenny High School, Inc. is a 4-year co-educational Catholic college preparatory school that was founded in 1952. The campus is located in Northeast Florida on the Southside of the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, a growing metropolitan center with a population of more than 1.3 million people. 1,210 students are enrolled in grades 9-12.

Accreditation and Membership
Bishop Kenny High School, Inc. is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The school holds membership in the National Catholic Education Association, the Florida Catholic Conference, The College Board, the National Association for College Admissions Counseling, and the Florida High School Athletic Association.

Faculty
With a professional teaching staff of 78, the average teaching experience of the faculty is 16 years, with 42% holding master’s degrees, and 4% holding specialist degrees.

Grade and Rank Information

All students take seven courses each year. Cumulative grade point averages are based on annual grades. The annual grade is computed by combining quarter grades with semester exams. Class rank is based on all students and on all subjects. Grade point average and class rank are weighted. Honors and Advanced Placement courses receive an additional weight.

Advanced Placement Test Results
In 2012, 503 AP exams were administered to 221 students. 71% of Bishop Kenny students taking AP exams earned a passing score, compared with the State of Florida rate of 51% and the national rate of 61%. AP exams are graded on a scale of 1-5; with 3-5 considered to be passing grades.
