Accreditation

Bishop Kenny is committed to high standards and providing the Catholic college-preparatory environment that parents and students expect.  Our focus is on achieving a shared vision for student learning, fulfilling our mission and upholding our Catholic identity and beliefs.

Preparing minds, hearts, and souls for college and life

Bishop Kenny High School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), an accreditation division of Cognia (formerly AdvancED) and the Florida Catholic Conference (FCC).

As a school engaged in continuous improvement, Bishop Kenny will:

  • Self-evaluate in relation to the  research based quality standards
  • Implement an improvement plan, monitor progress and evaluate results
  • Seek the insights and perspectives of an external review team

In December 2020, committees of faculty, staff, administration, parents, and students formed to evaluate how well we meet 80 benchmarks of the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools.  Committees evaluated and gathered evidence across four domains: (1) Mission and Catholic Identity; (2) Governance and Leadership; (3) Academic Excellence; (4) Operational Vitality.

As a result of our self-study, Bishop Kenny identified four main areas of school improvement to be addressed by the 2026-2027 school year: (1) continued integration of our Catholic identity across all subject areas; (2) continued enhancement to our college-preparatory curriculum; (3) renovation and upgrades to all classrooms on campus; (4) renovated facilities and new construction to support growth in academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities.
