April Student of the Month: Katie White

Congratulations to Senior Katie White who has been named the Bishop Kenny High School April student of the month.  She was recognized for Athletics – Courage and Dedication.  Katie was most honored to receive recognition for her dedication and says, “I truly am dedicated to all that I do. I spend two-three hours at track practice and another two hours a day at workouts. My free time is spent focusing on my schoolwork, which I take very seriously.”

Katie has a challenging academic schedule and is currently in the Science, Spanish, and National Honor Societies. Katie is a member of Track & Field team, and her dedication has helped her reach much success. She is currently ranked in the state for each of her events: 2nd in javelin, 6th in discus, and 9th in shotput. Her favorite parts of the season are meet days.

Though Katie’s father was in the Navy, she plans to follow in his footsteps and enlist in the Army upon graduating from Bishop Kenny. Katie’s hope is that her time in the Army will open her eyes to worldly differences and bring new opportunities for her future. Katie plans to attend college and eventually medical school when her commitment is up. She is thankful for her four years at BK stating, “I am glad to be a student at Bishop Kenny. It has helped mold my personality, provide structure to my days, and foster my dedication in all that I do.”
