BK Students Shine in Scholastic Art Awards

Bishop Kenny celebrates as seven talented students have garnered recognition at the prestigious Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. This national competition, founded in 1923, has been a beacon for creative teens for over a century, offering a platform for original work to be evaluated by professionals in the field.

Senior Sophia Nunez-Salinas stood out among her peers, earning accolades for ten separate pieces of art across four categories: Digital Art, Drawing & Illustration, Mixed Media, and Portfolio. Her impressive achievements include five coveted Gold Key awards, a distinction that places her work among the best in the nation.

Joining Sophia in this honor are Siena Bakkar ‘26, Kimberley Chong ‘28, Brittany Miller ‘26, Capri Pepin-Donat ‘25, Melania Rosasco ‘26, and Diego Ruiz Villar ‘26. Each of these students showcased creativity and skill, earning individual awards.

Bishop Kenny High School is immensely proud of its students for their commitment to the arts. These young artists embody the spirit of innovation and expression that the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards aim to inspire.
