2023 Senior Awards Ceremony
Principal Todd Orlando was honored to announce Emily Wilson as the Valedictorian of the Bishop Kenny Class of 2023, at the Senior Awards Ceremony held on June 1. Emily graduated with a grade point average of 4.61, an outstanding accomplishment. Emily came to Bishop Kenny from St. Vincent’s Academy in Savannah, Georgia. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Latin, Science, Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa and the English Honor Societies. Emily participated in various clubs and organizations including the Latin and Science clubs as well as serving as the captain of our Brain Brawl team. She achieved first honors Honor Roll every quarter of her high school career. Emily has taken thirteen Advanced Placement courses and was named AP Scholar with Distinction in the summer of 2022 as a result of her scores on her AP Exams. She is also an AP Capstone Diploma Candidate.
Emily earned over 330 hours of community service during high school, volunteering with Zoo Teens within the Jacksonville Zoological Park. Emily was also a volunteer with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society where she was the team lead for Project Cure and a candidate for the Student of the Year within their organization.
Emily applied and was accepted to the University of Florida, Florida State University, University of Georgia, Emory University, Clemson University and the University of Notre Dame. She will attend the University of Florida Honors College in the fall and major in Environmental Science where she plans to focus on Environmental Research and eventually Environmental Law.
