Bishop Kenny High School congratulates the following students who have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 2023-2024. Five students representing four scout troops from throughout the greater Jacksonville area have earned scouting’s highest honor. Congratulations to Nick Martin '25, Keegan Gallup '24, Kolbe Sexton '24, Brody Cooper '24, and Zach Crutchfield '25 for attaining this great accomplishment.
Thank you to the Assumption, Resurrection, and St. John the Baptist Catholic Churches, Neptune Beach Elementary School, and the Italian American Society for allowing the students to complete their service for your parishioners and students, and members.
One of the main pillars of attaining the rank of Eagle Scout is the planning, development, and completion of a significant service project. As part of the project, the scout must successfully lead volunteers in helping to execute the project to successful completion. This year the young men had a wide array of projects from building butterfly gardens, building benches and picnic tables to building rock gardens around outdoor stations of the cross. The largest project involved installing a 20×8 adaptive climbing wall for a specially designed classroom which will be used by over 75 elementary students.
It is truly a labor of love with all projects benefitting the local community. The materials are funded through donations with no cost to the public and labor from the young men. The Eagle Scout rank was established in 1912 and represents a significant accomplishment and takes many years to achieve.
