Girls' Cross Country Wins Third Consecutive FHSAA 2A State Championship

The Bishop Kenny Girls Cross Country Team capped off an exceptional season by completing a championship sweep—earning district, regional, and their third consecutive state title. The Crusaders dominated the Class 2A race in Tallahassee, delivering one of the program’s strongest collective performances to date.

Bishop Kenny posted an impressive 32 points to secure the state championship, well ahead of Bolles (78) and Episcopal (94). Leading the charge was Taylor Lawhon ‘27, who ran a personal-best 18:26 to finish as the state runner-up. She was followed closely by a powerhouse pack of Crusaders, with Camila Giles ‘28 (18:48.1), Alexis Wilson ‘26 (18:49), and Olivia Lumpkin ‘26 (18:59.9) all finishing inside the top 10.

The team’s depth was on full display, as Jillian Jakab ‘27 came in with a 19:08 mark, helping place five BK runners in the top 11 overall. The stellar lineup underscored not only elite individual performances but the strength and unity that define the program.

Head coach Jackie Hardin reflected proudly on the team’s remarkable achievement, sharing, "Each one is always so special, and these girls amazed me every time they stepped up to the line."

With grit, consistency, and an unwavering team culture, the Bishop Kenny Girls Cross Country Team once again proved why they remain a force in Florida high school running, bringing home yet another state championship to the storied BK tradition bringing the medal count to 11 overall.
