January Students of the Month: Jacob Hobensack and Olivia Pia

Congratulations to seniors Olivia Pia and Jacob Hobensack for receiving the January Students of the Month award. Their focus on Academics, Initiative, and Commitment exemplify these attributes through their dedication both in the classroom and in their extracurricular pursuits.

Senior Olivia Pia is a four-year member of the varsity soccer team and a current team captain, leading from the midfield with determination and heart. She is committed to continuing her soccer career at the University of South Carolina Aiken, where she plans to major in biology with aspirations of attending medical school. Beyond athletics, Olivia’s involvement is extensive, she participates in the History, Interact, Medical Career, Science, and Spanish Clubs and is pursuing her AP Capstone diploma. She is also an AP Scholar with Distinction and a member of National Honor Society, Rho Kappa, English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Science Honor Society. Reflecting on commitment, Olivia shared, “Soccer takes time and dedication, and I truly love the game. I’ve always known my academics had to come first, and I believe BK has prepared me well for college.”

Senior Jacob Hobensack is also a standout both in the classroom and on the soccer field. A varsity wing for the Crusaders, Jacob balances his athletic involvement with active participation in Rho Kappa, Latin, and Science Clubs. He is a member of National Honor Society, English, Rho Kappa, Latin, Mu Alpha Theta, and Science Honor Societies and is distinguished as a National Merit Semifinalist. Reflecting on the importance of academics and commitment, Jacob said, “I’ve always been driven and genuinely enjoy learning, and soccer has become my outlet. Playing the game well and embracing the team dynamic have helped me grow into a well-rounded student. I’m grateful for my teachers, who are committed to giving every student the strongest foundation for college.”
