Congratulations to Bishop Kenny High School senior Leo Rodriguez for having been selected by the Exchange Club of Jacksonville as the Male Student of the Year. The announcement was made at the Florida District Exchange Club’s annual convention in the Jacksonville area, based on his Outstanding Scholarship, Leadership, Community Service, and Character qualities.
Rodriguez is a very dedicated student who is an active member of the Crusader Cross Country and Track Teams. He is a member of the English, Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa, Science, Spanish, and National Honor Societies. He is a BK Student Ambassador, an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, and a member of the History, Interact, Science and Spanish Clubs. Rodriguez enjoys giving back to the community as he has accrued just under 200 service hours since his freshman year, with a majority of those related to the Dance Marathon. He stated, “I’ve enjoyed my time at Kenny because the culture here truly rewards those who are heavily involved in the school community, whether it’s through sports, clubs, or academics. In the future, I’m planning to apply this same philosophy no matter where I end up or what I’m doing.” Rodriguez will attend the Honors College at the University of Florida and pursue a major in finance and economics.
