May Students of the Month: Isabella Delasancha and Brooks Cheezum

Best All Around – Exemplifying Perseverance and Motivation

Bishop Kenny proudly recognizes seniors Isabella Delasancha and Brooks Cheezum as the May Students of the Month, honored for their commitment to excellence, leadership, and dedication both in and out of the classroom.

Brooks Cheezum has distinguished himself as a four-year member of the varsity basketball team while maintaining a rigorous academic schedule. Actively involved in the Science Club and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, he is also a member of the Science, Spanish, and English Honor Societies. Brooks will attend Auburn University to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Reflecting on his time at Bishop Kenny, Brooks shared that he values the recognition of his hard work, striving each day to “be the best teammate and student,” a mindset that has defined his success.

Isabella Delasancha has made a lasting impact as a four-year member of the varsity track and field team. Her dedication was recognized at the prestigious Bob Hayes Invitational, where she was awarded the James “Coach Day” College Scholarship. Isabella is deeply involved across campus as a member of the Anchor, Interact, History, Spanish, and Science Clubs, and she has earned membership in the English, Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa, Spanish, Science, and National Honor Societies. A leader in faith and service, she serves as a Crusader Athletes for Christ member, an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, and has completed more than 700 service hours. Isabella will attend the University of Florida to study Political Science with plans to attend law school. She credits her growth to those around her, sharing that her friends and teammates have continually encouraged and challenged her “to be the best version of myself.”
