November Student of the Month: Anna Grace Shoemaker

Congratulations to Senior Anna Grace Shoemaker, Bishop Kenny’s November Student of the Month.  Anna Grace was selected for Leadership, Responsibility and Self Discipline.  Anna Grace has developed her own leadership style as a student at BK and makes it a priority to guide others into leadership roles.  Anna Grace said, “I am drawn to leadership roles at BK because it gives me a sense of purpose, and I enjoy leading and teaching others to lead so that we can benefit the Jacksonville community.”

Anna Grace has a rigorous academic schedule and is also very involved in extra-curricular activities. She puts her faith into action through her participation in Campus Ministry as an Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Eucharist.  Anna Grace is a member of the National Honor Society and the English, German, Rho Kappa, and Mu Alpha Theta Honor Societies. She is a member of the German, Science, and History Club.  She is the president of the Anchor Club and serves as a BK Ambassador.

Anna Grace is active with BK Best Buddies which is a part of the Interact Club  Following the pandemic, the name was changed to BK Buddies.  The student group meets monthly and works with the North Florida School for Special Education and other area special education communities to volunteer at events such as Trunk or Treat and the annual Christmas stocking give-away.

Anna Grace would like to attend Auburn University and major in health science to become an occupational therapist.  Inspired by her grandmother she said, “My grandmother had Alzheimer’s, and I grew up helping with her care because she lived with us.  I loved her so much, and I feel drawn to helping others with special needs.”
