October Students of the Month: Carter Wright and Sophia Miller

Bishop Kenny High School is pleased to announce  Carter Wright and Sophia Miller as the October Students of the Month for Most School Spirit. Both students have distinguished themselves through their leadership, enthusiasm, and dedication, serving as examples of what it means to be a Crusader.

Carter Wright, a senior and four-year member of the varsity swim team, has achieved remarkable success in athletics with fourteen state titles to his name, including team, relay, and individual records. His accomplishments in the pool are matched by his involvement in the Medical Career, Science, and Spanish clubs, as well as his commitment to academics. Looking beyond competition, Carter explained his approach to school spirit: “Don’t fear other people’s judgement – I just want to have fun and bring that Crusader spirit to all BK events. And this is coming from a multiple state champion where anything is possible.” Carter has committed to the University of Alabama, where he will continue swimming while pursuing a degree in nursing.

Sophia Miller also exemplifies spirit and involvement at Bishop Kenny. A member of BK Buddies, Campus Ministry, Interact, Medical Career, and Night Vision clubs, as well as the Spanish Honor Society, Sophia balances academics, service, and athletics with dedication. As part of the varsity indoor volleyball team, she values the sense of teamwork and camaraderie she experiences both on the court and in beach volleyball. Reflecting on her athletic journey, she shared, “At the end of the day, you look back at the fun memories you are making, and you realize you have to live in the moment.” Sophia plans to attend the University of Florida to pursue a degree in psychology.

The Bishop Kenny community congratulates Carter Wright and Sophia Miller on this recognition and celebrates their example of Crusader pride.
