September Students of the Month: Bridget Lawrence and Will Johnson

Congratulations to Seniors Bridget Lawrence and Will Johnson, Bishop Kenny’s September Students of the Month. They were selected for Friendship, Kindness and Humility.  They both demonstrate the qualities necessary to build strong lasting friendships, and they are especially thankful for the friends they have made at BK. Johnson shared, “I try to be friendly and kind to everyone I meet both on campus and off, and I have really enjoyed the last three years spent at Bishop Kenny with my classmates, teammates, teachers and coaches.”

Bridget Lawrence balances a demanding academic schedule with a strong commitment to service. As an Extra Ordinary Minister of Holy Communion, she dedicates much of her time to volunteering, including at Camp I Am Special, Urban Plunge, and the Assumption Basketball League, accumulating nearly 700 service hours since her freshman year. Bridget is the President of the Campus Ministry Club and is involved in several other organizations, including Crusader Athletes for Christ, BK Ambassadors, Interact, and Latin clubs. She is also a member of the English and Latin honor societies and plans to rejoin the tennis team in the spring. Bridget aspires to attend Michigan State University and pursue a degree in nursing.

Will Johnson also maintains a rigorous academic schedule while contributing to the community, having accumulated over 400 service hours. As the captain of the cross-country team and an FHSAA scholar athlete, Will excels both in sports and academics. He is a member of the English, Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa, Science, Spanish, and National Honor Societies, and he participates in the St. Vincent de Paul Society, as well as the History, Interact, and Spanish clubs. While Will has not yet decided on a specific college, he is interested in pursuing a major in business.

Both students are outstanding examples of leadership and service at Bishop Kenny.
