The Bishop Kenny Sailing team continues to dominate the north district of SAISA (South Atlantic Interscholastic Sailing Association) by finishing off the season in 1st place yet again. This district is composed of 42 teams from Jacksonville, Georgia, South and North Carolina and parts of Tennessee. There are 7 “points” regattas held each season, where teams can compete for points that go towards qualifying for the District Championship. At the end of the season the district takes the top 5 finishes and awards points based on the amount of teams competing at each event. The team finished with 92 points and will be representing north SAISA at the district championship being held in St. Petersburg, Florida on April 20-21 where the top 7 teams from the north district, and 8 from the south will compete with the top 3 qualifying for the National Championship being held in Seattle, WA. The team will also be competing in the SAISA Team Racing qualifier being help in Tampa, Florida on April 6-7. This is 3 vs. 3 sailing and the top team at this event will qualify for the national championship being held in Portland, Maine. Go Crusaders!
