November Student of the Month

Caroline McMillan, 17, a senior at Bishop Kenny High School, is the student of the month for November. She was nominated by the Student Government Association and the Student Council class officers. Caroline received the award for Leadership – Responsibility and Self-Discipline. She truly offers her time, talent and treasure to everything she is involved in at Bishop Kenny and also with the Jacksonville community.

Caroline has a rigorous academic schedule and carries a 4.33 GPA.  She is the secretary for the National Junior Honor Society, is actively involved with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Latin Club, and Latin Honors Society.  She has been on the Cross Country team for three years, and plays club soccer. Caroline’s goal is to attend Notre Dame University.

Caroline currently has 1,177 service hours at Bishop Kenny and has a special place in her heart for Camp I Am Special.  She has volunteered the past four summers at the camp.  She was a Leader in Training this past summer and found it very fulfilling.  Caroline said that, “Camp I Am Special has taught me about people, and that we should not judge anyone. I truly found God there and feel that we are called to love every single person.”

Caroline attended St. Joseph Catholic School and she is very active in the parish. She is a Eucharistic Minister at Bishop Kenny and truly puts her faith into action both at BK and in the community. In her spare time she enjoys being with friends and family.
