Caty Allen, 17, a senior at Bishop Kenny High School, is the student of the month for January. She was nominated by the Student Government Association and Student Council class officers. Caty received the award for Academics- Initiative and Commitment. She enthusiastically offers her time, talent and treasure to everything she is involved in at BK and throughout the Jacksonville community. Asked about her time at BK Caty shared, “The sense of community is what I love most about attending Bishop Kenny.”
Caty has a rigorous academic schedule and carries a 4.55 GPA. She is a member of the National Honor Society, and the National Art Honor Society. She is actively involved as a Kairos leader, and serves as a Eucharistic Minister. She has been on the Cross Country team for three years and enjoys playing the mandolin in her free time.
Caty has accumulated 342 hours of community service while at Bishop Kenny. A participant in Dance Marathon Caty formed Team James in 2018 in honor of her three year old cousin who has a very rare heart condition. She raised over $2,500 through the project. Caty’s goal is to attend Vanderbilt University with a major in medicine.
