Background/History
Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute has provided Certified Athletic Trainers and Orthopaedic Physicians for Sports Medicine Care at Bishop Kenny Since 1992. JOI focuses on athletes' physical well-being before, during, and after sporting events.  Dr. Carlos Tandron has been Bishop Kenny’s Head Team Physician since 1992 and is dedicated to being on campus to treat student-athletes during sporting events. Today, Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute is proud to continue its partnership with Bishop Kenny High School providing professional sports medicine services.

Who Is JOI
We are a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopaedic and sports medicine practice in NE Florida. JOI provides an integrated approach to providing Sports Medicine services and offers a wide array of treatment options, from conservative care to in-office procedures. When surgery is necessary, JOI provides the latest state-of-the-art methods such as robot-assisted procedures. Most importantly, JOI strives to provide quality health care services at a reasonable cost in an atmosphere that fosters respect and compassion. JOI & JOI Rehab has been voted as finalists for orthopedic practice & physical therapy centers by the Bold City Best Voters. In 2024, JOI was voted best foot care clinic.

JOI maintains a rehab/physical therapy division with therapists in 6 locations. JOI also has over 30 orthopedic physicians in 3 offices located at San Marco, Beaches, Fleming, and Nassau. JOI Rehab has locations at San Marco, Beaches, Nassau County, Nocatee, Arlington, and Mandarin.
