Background/History

Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute has provided Certified Athletic Trainers and Orthopaedic Physicians for Sports Medicine Care at Bishop Kenny Since 1992. JOI focuses on both athletes' mental and physical well-being before, during, and after sporting events. Having an Athletic Trainer on campus during athletic activities allows for a quicker response time to urgent situations. It also facilitates better communication between coaches, parents and medical personnel and more consistency of athletes' care. Furthermore, Dr. Carlos Tandron has been Bishop Kenny’s Head Team Physician since 1992 and is dedicated to being on campus to treat student-athletes during sporting events. Today, Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute is proud to continue its partnership with Bishop Kenny High School providing professional sports medicine services.

Who Is JOI
We are the largest group of board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopaedic and sports medicine practices in NE Florida. JOI also has over 30 orthopedic physicians in 5 offices located at San Marco, Baptist South, Baptist Beaches, Fleming Island, and Nassau. JOI Rehab has locations at San Marco, Beaches, Nassau County, North, Baptist South, Fleming Island, Roosevelt, Point Meadows, Nocatee, Arlington, World Golf, and Mandarin.
