Mu Alpha Theta National Mathematics Honor Society

Description:  The purpose of this honor society is to inspire a keen interest in mathematics, develop strong scholarship in the subject, and promote the enjoyment of mathematics in high school and in the works around us.  It is to advance the students’ knowledge of classical and modern mathematics and to enhance the opportunities available to participate and receive award or mathematical advancement. 

Meetings:  Twice per semester

Qualifications:  Members must have earned a grade of A in two high school college preparatory mathematics courses (including algebra and geometry), must continue enrollment in college preparatory mathematics in subsequent years, must maintain a 3.0 mathematics average and a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.

Enrollment Deadline:  Invitations are issued during the third quarter, followed by an induction ceremony.

Leadership Opportunities:  President, Historian, Treasurer, Secretary, Secretary and Enrichment Organizer.
